Pre-moistened with 10 mL of diluent (BPW, Letheen, or Neutralizing Buffer), it neutralizes residual sanitizers effectively. Traditionally, the bud on the swab has consisted of a spun fibre such as cotton, rayon, polyester or calcium alginate wound round the end of the shaft which would be wood, plastic or wire.
