Hanna Instruments HI-98161 is a portable pH and temperature meter designed to be used in the Food sector. The HI-98161 is supplied with an FC2023 electrode, specifically made to measure all types of samples e.g. solid and semi-solid foods. This electrode has a conic tip shape to avoid samples clogging the reference junction and for easy penetration. The FC2023 has a Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) food-grade plastic body to resist most chemicals and solvents.
Benefits
Waterproof - IP67 rated
CAL Check™
Automatic or manual temperature compensation
Calibration
200 hour battery life approx - 1.5V AA batteries (x4)
Clear display
Auto hold
Calibration timeout
PC Connectivity via USB
GLP
Intuitive keypad
Carry case and accessories
The Hanna HI-98161 unique CAL Check™ alerts the user to potential problems in the calibration process. Food processors will find this very important as the probe is likely coated with the solids found in the food sample being measured. Once the probe is coated, it could lead to errors in the pH measurement. Another one of the HI-98161 features is AutoHold. Once enabled it will warn the user when a reading is not within the range of calibrated pH values. The Log-on-demand mode lets the user save up to 200 samples which can then be recalled or transferred to a PC.

HORIBA's highly-sensitive, flat sensor technology opens up new possibilities for sampling and sample types. Only a small amount of sample is required, so you can easily sample in situ without the need for beakers or other labware.
Sensors are easily replaced as required.
Measure even smaller samples with the LAQUAtwin sampling sheet.
The sampling sheet allows trace volumes to be analysed. For example, you can even measure the pH of human skin by wiping with a sampling sheet soaked in pure water, and placing it on the sensor.
Using the HORIBA sampling sheet, volumes down to 0.05 ml can be tested (except for conductivity measurements).
Carry case comes as standard for handy portability.
The compact carry case contains everything you need for your measurements, including the standard solution and sampling sheets.
