Hygiena® AlerTox® Sticks B-Lactoglobulin is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of beta-lactoglobulin (BLG) in food, kitchens and production facilities.
AlerTox® Sticks are rapid tests for allergen detection in food, drinks, and on surfaces for internal Quality Control. They are designed specifically to help manufacturers keep their items free of antigens that may cause allergic reactions. These user-friendly tests are for the detection and qualification of main food allergens without the need for lab equipment or scientific knowledge.
Benefits
They have industrial applications for allergen detection in food, food quality control, trace allergen contamination in food, liquid, and surfaces and implementation and fulfilment of HACCP, ISO 2200, BRC, and IFS compliance.
AlerTox® Sticks Beta-Lactoglobulin is based on a lateral flow immunoassay and uses antibodies specific to BLG. This protein is a member of the lipocalin family and comprises approximately 10% of the dry weight of defatted milk proteins. The test is able to detect BLG residues in a large variety of food matrices and also in environmental samples. The assay is specific for BLG and does not cross-react with nor recognizes other milk proteins such as casein.
Each AlerTox® Sticks Beta-Lactoglobulin kit includes all the basic equipment required to carry out testing:

Atmospheric Generation System. The 2.5L jar will hold up to 12 disposable plastic petri dishes. The jar’s polycarbonate base is secured to the lid by four spring loaded clips. The clips themselves allow self-venting in the unlikely event of a pressure build up. A carrying handle is also provided, enabling the jar to be transported safely between the bench and the incubator.
An easy to operate vacuum relief screw permits the inlet of air to the jar, thus overcoming any difficulty which could be caused by the presence of negative pressure.
The AnaeroJar is lightweight and robust with excellent space saving features; there are no external clamps or protruding valves and the carrying handle tucks away into the lid of the jar itself.
AnaeroGen is a kit for use with the AnaeroJar. It produces an anaerobic atmosphere rapidly without the use of water or catalyst. No hydrogen is produced. The oxygen is absorbed rapidly without build up of pressure. The final atmosphere contains less than 1% oxygen supplemented with carbon dioxide - ideal for optimum growth of anaerobes and increased colony size.
Single-use kit that contains all components needed for collecting an air sample and eluting it with Wet Foam Elution(TM) (WFE) as part of the AirPrep Sampling Systems. Each kit includes one each:†
Elution Buffer - Single-use canister of irradiated buffer
Elutor Adapter - provides interface between canister and filter for WFE
Filter - Dry electret filter, ETO-treated
Sample Cup - Conical-bottom 100 mL
