Hygiena InSite® L.mono Glo Tests

The Hygiena InSite® L. mono Glo is an easy-to-use, self-contained, environmental sampling and screening test for Listeria species and Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono). It is intended to be used for environmental monitoring in food processing environments after cleaning.

InSite® L.mono Glo provides uses with qualitative results for low and high levels of Listeria in 24 to 48 hours. A colour change of the media from yellow/amber to grey/black is considered presumptive positive for Listeria species. Presumptive positive samples for Listeria species which exhibit green fluorescence under ultraviolet light indicate that the sample is presumptive positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

It doesn't take a microbiologist to understand these results. When Listeria species is present in a sample, the liquid media changes colour from amber to black. If pathogenic Listeria, like L. mono, is present, the media will glow green when UV light is shined on it.

Each device contains a chromogenic liquid media formulated with antibiotics, growth enhancers, and colour-changing compounds specific to Listeria plus fluorescent compounds specific to Listeria monocytogenes. The two-step test changes colour in the presence of Listeria species, while illumination with UV light reveals the presence of L. mono.
