The Hygiena InSite® Listeria Environmental tests are easy-to-use and self-contained species test. These tests contain a chromogenic liquid media formulated with antibiotics, growth enhancers, and colour-changing compounds specific to the Listeria species.
To use, simply swab the test area and wait. After 24-48 hours of incubation, the test will change in colour which is considered presumptive positive. Expensive lab equipment isn't required and no additional sample handling of the sample is necessary.
Benefits
It doesn't take a microbiologist to understand these results. When Listeria species is present in a sample, the liquid media changes colour from amber to black.
Cut back on excessive labour and materials. This all-in-one test utilises a large foam sampler for maximum sample collection that eliminates the need for additional sponges, diluents, bags, and pipettes. The only equipment you'll need is an incubator.
The Lab Format Digital Dry Block Incubator can be configured in 3 different ways to fit your testing needs. Since blocks are heated independently, you can run multiple test assays all on one incubator. Blocks are sold separately.
Available wells for the Lab Format Incubator:
Alternatively, you can try the Small Format Incubator with a 12 well block or a 6-well block.

Our comprehensive and sensitive Legionella swab test is designed for testing surfaces and biofilm. The process involves collecting a sample through swabbing areas where biofilm accumulates e.g. shower heads, taps, storage tanks, pipework and the water edge of pools or hot tubs.
Biofilm is the common habitat for Legionella pneumophila. This slimy substance protects this bacterium from heat or chemical treatments.
This method is highly recommended for evaluating surfaces in environments such as cooling towers, water tanks, sinks, showers, hot tubs, misters, sprinklers, air washers, and humidifiers, among others.
