Hygiena MicroSnap® Total Viable Count (TVC) delivers same-day test results, giving you the advantage of knowing microbial levels on the same day samples are collected. The test uses a novel bioluminogenic test reaction that generates light when enzymes that are characteristic of viable bacteria react with substrates to produce light. The light-generating signal is then quantified with the EnSURE luminometer.
MicroSnap® Total's same-day results enable you to take corrective actions faster or release products sooner. (AOAC-RI Performance Tested Method #031501).
You will need to purchase both the Enrichment and Detection devices and a MicroSnap® Enrichment Broth.
Benefits
MicroSnap®'s efficient design makes microorganism testing easier than ever. Each device's patented Snap-Valve holds a precise amount of specific enrichment broth, ready to be used for either product or surface samples. Within the enrichment device is a built-in pipette, enabling convenient and efficient transfer of the enriched sample to the detection device.
Bioluminogenic Test
MicroSnap® is a rapid bioluminogenic test method for the detection and enumeration of bacteria, giving actionable, same-day test results. The MicroSnap® test platform consists of an Enrichment Device containing a specific growth medium and a Detection Device containing a bioluminogenic (light-producing) substrate. When MicroSnap® detects the specific microorganism, light is emitted and measured with Hygiena's EnSURE luminometer. Results are stored and tracked with Hygiena's complimentary SureTrend software for further data analysis and trending.
Enhanced Nutrient Broth
Enhanced Nutrient Broth is one enrichment media for three MicroSnap® detection tests. Just add 1mL of sample to the 9mL volume and incubate! The broth volume makes Enhanced Nutrient Broth perfect for milk samples where the limit is
Same-day results.
The entire MicroSnap® test process is complete on the same day
Storage
Ultrasnap sampling devices must be refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C (35 – 46 °F). Sample devices should be left out at room temperature for 10 minutes before being used. They can withstand exposure to room temperature conditions (<25°C) for up to 4 weeks without compromising functionality.
Why choose MicroSnap?
Same Shift Results:
Rapid test results are essential to releasing product quickly. The MicroSnap® family of rapid indicator organism tests enables food safety and quality manager to enumerate samples in 6 hours and to determine presence/absence in 8 hours. Simply collect sample, incubate and read with a Hygiena® Luminometer.
Reduce Costs & Shorten Release Cycles:
While sending samples to the lab for PCR analysis can be necessary for a specific application, simpler more cost-effective solutions can supplement your testing protocols. Integrating MicroSnap® as a rapid indicator test within your testing protocol will reduce material cost, shipping costs and lab fees. Plus, a rapid test also means shorter production hold times and lower inventory holding costs, all leading to more cost savings.
Flexible & Easy-to-Use:
MicroSnap’s efficient design makes microorganism testing flexible and easy. It can be used for both surfaces and samples. Both options use a simple 2-step process: enrichment and detection. Plus, the patented Snap-Valve holds a precise amount of specific enrichment broth, ready to be used for either product or surface samples. Within the enrichment device is a built-in pipette, enabling convenient and efficient transfer of enriched samples to the detection device. The enriched sample is read on a Hygiena® luminometer, which means no tedious colony counting is necessary. Use the RLU to CFU conversion table to determine the outcome. Microorganism testing has never been easier.
Works with Filtered Samples:
MicroSnap® E. coli Enrichment Broth is available in a 2mL vial for use with large-volume filtered samples and delivers same-day results. Earlier results mean products can be released sooner; thus cutting inventory and warehouse costs for beverage processors. This method is AOAC approved and validated against the EPA method.
Complete Hygiena Monitoring Program:
MicroSnap® is an essential component within a complete environmental monitoring program. Combine MicroSnap® with the EnSURE® Touch and SureTrend® to capture and trend your test results over time. Use the SureTrend® dashboard to see how your ATP testing program impacts your microorganism testing and how the two work together to reduce your risk of a contamination event.

Automatic screening of more than 50 antibiotics in milk, in a single assay.
Eclipse Farm 4G & Comet4 is the first system on the market that allows to carry out an automatic antibiotic screening test and share the results in real-time. Just add a drop of milk into the test tube and Comet4 will automatically run the test in less than 2.5 hours. Regardless of where you are, you will receive the results on your smartphone, your cloud account or your email, always in real-time.
Comet32 performs the Eclipse 4G antibiotic screening assay automatically and interprets the results objectively. Just apply a drop of milk to the Eclipse test and Comet32 will incubate and stop the assay automatically; interpreting and saving the results in the device. Comet32 helps you to standardise the antibiotics assay and to manage samples, using four different sets (1-8 samples), individually or together.
The Eclipse test is based on the growth inhibition of the Geobacillus stearothermophilus bacterium. In a specific culture medium and under suitable conditions, the spores of this bacterium germinate and multiply, acidifying the medium, producing a colour change in the culture medium from blue to yellow. If the milk sample contains an antimicrobial concentration higher than the test detection limit, the bacterial growth is inhibited and therefore the colour change of the medium will not occur.
Scope: simultaneous detection of 50 antibiotics from 8 different families in milk (beta-lactams, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, macrolides, aminoglycosides, lincosamides, anasamycins and sulfones)
Assay-time: 2h 30 minutes
Manual assay: one-stage incubation at 63∞C for approximately 2.5h and visual reading
Combine with Zeulab incubator readers for automated workflow
