  • ATP

Here at Gem Scientific, we pride ourselves on offering you efficient ATP hygiene monitoring systems designed to help you to ensure proper cleaning standards are being maintained within your workplace. While many methods exist for evaluating cleanliness, ATP bioluminescence is the only method that combines quantitative data collection with scientific measurement and still delivers speedy results. An ideal solution to inspect and verify the hygiene of surfaces in a range of environments, including food manufacturing, hospitality, medical facilities and laboratories, they are an extremely useful tool to have, especially where cleanliness is required.

    HOW DO ATP INSTRUMENTS WORK?

Adenosine Triphosphate, or ATP, is the energy molecule found in all organic material, including bacteria, food residue and human tissues, making it a perfect indicator when trying to determine if an environmental surface or water sample is clean or not. When a test swab is activated, a bioluminescent reaction occurs, which is measured and quantified with an RLU output. As ATP bioluminescence reactions are linear, the more ATP present means the higher the RLU.

    ATP MONITORING SYSTEMS

ATP hygiene monitoring systems are rapid cleaning efficacy monitoring tools that measure the cleanliness of a range of devices and surfaces. They can quantify the cleanliness of a surface or water sample using ATP bioluminescence. With their data tracking and trending software, it is possible for you to monitor your facilities data, identify any issues and generate useful reports so that you can focus your efforts where they are needed the most.

Invest in our hygiene monitoring products which include Neogen Clean-Trace ATP systems as well as Hygiena ATP systems to ensure a high level of health and safety in your workplace.

  • Rapid Tests

Reduce the risk of contamination by investing in high-performing rapid tests to ensure the cleanliness of your environment instantly. Practical and intuitive, they can be used within an array of industries, such as food processing, packaging, hospitality and medical facilities, and the different varieties that we offer are effective in detecting the presence of protein along with a range of other residues on surfaces and professional equipment.

    OUR RANGE OF RAPID TESTS

At Gem Scientific, we are proud to be able to offer you a high-quality range of rapid tests that are efficient and accurate whenever they are in use. Whether you wish to test for the presence of protein, glucose or lactose residue, we can guarantee that our collection has a rapid test to suit your requirements. With an easy-to-use colour-change indicator, the results of your test will be shown in real-time, ensuring that you can react to these accordingly straight away.

HOW DO RAPID TESTS TEST FOR PROTEIN?

Helping to reduce the risk of a food safety incident, our rapid tests for protein quickly detect the presence of protein molecules so that any issues can be rectified immediately. Simply take your sample using the swab and combined with your testing liquid, you will be provided with clear and quick results. Our main carriers of rapid tests are Neogen and Hygiena, which we are extremely proud to offer as part of our product range as they are both innovative and well established. MWE have been manufacturing DRYSWAB™ for over 70 years. These are the fundamental tools used to collect specimens or samples for analysis, or simply to transfer materials during a diagnostic procedure.

Traditionally, the bud on the swab has consisted of a spun fibre such as cotton, rayon, polyester or calcium alginate wound round the end of the shaft which would be wood, plastic or wire. In recent years, novel bud materials have been introduced, such as soft cellular polyurethane foam, or flocked fibres which can give improved uptake and release of specimens. Medical Wire have extensive ranges of swabs utilising either spun fibres, cellular foam, or multifilament flock fibres, with something suitable for many applications.

Tip - Rayon: Rayon, also known as Viscose, is a processed form of cellulose and has been found to be particularly suitable for the recovery of microorganisms. The texture is similar to that of cotton, but it has none of the fatty acids or other substances that can be inhibitory to fastidious bacteria. It has also been shown to be compatible with many molecular based diagnostic tests. Rayon buds are used on most of our transport swabs.

The structure of this swab bud allows for complete absorption & release of sample into transport media or reagents.
