Johnson's J-QUANT® Nitrite test strips can quickly and reliably measure the level of nitrite in liquids. These strips provide consistent results with their easy to use method within 45 seconds of sampling.
Features
Nitrite measure bacterial growth in cooling lubricants formed during the manufacturing process which can lead to the development of carcinogens such as nitrosamine. If carried out regularly, nitrite testing can protect staff from overexposure and lower costs as any action taken as a result of measurement can increase the lifetime of the cooling lubricant.
The maximum acceptable level of nitrite in drinking water as stated by the EPA is 1 mg/l. High levels of nitrite can cause infant mortality as well as proving fatal to aquatic life. Nitrite test strips are therefore the ideal solution for testing these circumstances due to their simple and rapid usage.
Foods such as deep-frozen spinach, brine, pickling solutions and meat products require the measurement of nitrate concentration. High levels can potentially cause harm to consumers of these products, especially children.
Johnson's J-QUANT® Semi-Quantitative Test Strips are globally known for their accuracy and quality. They provide semi-quantitative results for ions, organic compounds, inorganic compounds and match the ever-demanding needs of a rapid test. These strips work within the pH range 2.8 - 4.4. The optimum pH of yeast is between 5.2 - 5.5, which falls within the measuring capacity of the narrow-range Beer pH test strip (pH 4.6 - 6.2), to test for beer mash.
J-QUANT® Fluoride J-QUANT® Fluoride 100 Test Strips are used for determining the amount of fluoride in tap water supplied by local water supply companies. They assist by providing a semi-quantitative value either below or above predetermined guidelines and allow for quick assessment of the amount of fluoride. Carrying out the test by including sodium dithionite in the sample will prevent the white discolouration generated by chlorates and bromates without influencing the result.
