ETI Premium Legionnaires' Water Temperature Thermometer Kit contains everything required to monitor water supply temperatures for the prevention of Legionella growth.

Each kit contains:

  • Therma 1 Thermometer
  • 3 different probes
  • Traceable certificate of calibration
  • Water Resistant Countdown Timer
  • Mini tub of Probe Wipes
  • ABS carrying case

The thermometer kit includes a robust and easy-to-use Therma 1 Industrial Thermometer that operates through the range of -99.9℃ to 1372℃ with a 0.1℃ or 1℃ resolution. With a 10000-hour battery life the 1.5 volt AAA batteries will last at least 5 years.

ETI Premium Legionnaires' kit features three different probes for testing varying elements of the water system. The Penetration Temperature Probe can be used to record the temperature of tap water, the Ribbon Surface Temperature Probe for the surface of pipes and tanks and the Wire Probe for any areas that are difficult to reach.

Probes that are included:

  • 1x Penetration probe
  • 1x Precision ribbon surface probe
  • 1x PTFE wire probe

Incorrect water temperature is a key risk factor for legionella growth. The legionella bacteria multiply in water at temperatures between 20 to 45℃. A typical method of control is to store hot water above 60℃ and distribute it at above 50℃ (care must be taken to prevent scalding). Cold water should be kept below 20℃

Current legislation means that if you are the employer or person in control of premises, you must organise a risk assessment. The revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) issued by the Government's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) significantly extends the scope of its guidance on control of legionella bacteria in water.

Neogen® Swab-Sampler with DE Neutralising Broth

£108.58 vat excl.

£130.30 vat Inc.

Availability: Out of stock

Neogen® Swab-Sampler with 10 mL D/E Neutralising Broth is a convenient and quick collection device for environmental sampling and testing over small surface areas.

Sample collection is easy with Neogen® Swab-Samplers. The vial provides ample headspace for sample addition and vortexing to release organisms from the swab. In addition, this sampling device is decontaminated through gamma irradiation for long shelf life. The Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach is the most widely accepted food safety management protocol worldwide. Sample collection products from Neogen® are a crucial part of this approach to identify potential food-borne hazards and pinpoint where they reside. Portability, stable enrichment media, and easy-to-handle swabs and sponges are designed to test for a wide variety of potential hazards and deliver exceptionally accurate results. They are engineered to safely gather, hold, and secure contents from the collection site to the lab without leaking or compromising the sample.

D/E Neutralising Broth, developed by Dey and Engley, is used in disinfectant testing where neutralization of the antiseptics and disinfectants is important for determining its bactericidal activity. It is effective for neutralising a broad spectrum of disinfectants and preservative antimicrobial chemicals, such as ammonium compounds, phenolics, iodine, chlorine preparations, mercurials, formaldehyde, and glutaraldehyde. D/E Neutralising media will neutralize higher concentrations of residual antimicrobials than other standard neutralising formulations, such as Letheen media, Thioglycollate media, and Neutralising Buffe

For the semi quantitative detection of Nitrite Reducing Bacteria.

Nitrite Reducing Bacteria (NRB) are microorganisms that have the ability to reduce nitrite which in turn generates corrosive ammonia and gases (nitrogen). Causing issues such as microbial induced corrosion (MIC) for many industrial sectors, particularly as Nitrite Reducing Bacteria can diminish nitrite corrosion inhibitors.

The use of Neutralising Buffer is advised for surface testing for the presence of microorganisms that may occur on dairy and food equipment disinfected with chlorine or quaternary ammonium compounds. It is capable of inactivating the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect of chlorine and quaternary ammonium composites. Neutralising these chemicals is crucial in accurately detecting the presence of potentially harmful microorganisms. Using Neutralising Buffer in the microbiological examination of surfaces in standard methods to test dairy products and foods.
