The Advanced Waterproof Portable Photometer has an advanced optical system. The photometer has an LED that generates no heat and an 8nm narrowband interference filter that is accurate to ±1nm and offers 25% increase in light efficiency. This portable photometer has a reference detector to be able to modulate the voltage to LED for consistent light output. The photometer’s concave focusing lens is used to reduce errors from imperfections in the cuvette.
The Hanna HI-97715’s LED light source offers superior performance compared to tungsten lamps. LEDs allow this photometer to have a much higher luminous efficiency providing more light while using less power. These lights produce little heat which could otherwise affect electronic stability. The LED light sources are available in a wide array of wavelengths, whereas tungsten lamps have poor blue/violet light output. Improving the optical filters has meant the user can ensure greater wavelength accuracy and allows a bright, stronger signal to be received. The end result of this is higher measurement stability and less wavelength error. These photometers internal reference system compensates for any drifts due to power fluctuations or ambient temperature changes. Having a stable source of light ensures the readings are fast and stable between your blank (zero) measurement and sample measurement. This portable photometer features a focusing lens that collects all of the light that exits the cuvette. This reduces errors from imperfections and scratches that may be present in the glass. These convex lenses reduce the need for indexing cuvettes.
The Hanna HI-97715 has advanced features such as CAL Check to verify performance, GLP for last calibration date, setup and ability to see all accessories used with the meter. The user has a choice of powder or economical easy to use liquid reagents. A tutorial mode gives the user step-by-step instructions. These instructions guide a first time user to perform a measurement correctly. The photometers setup options allow the user to personalise the meter to include a date and time format, language, and enable the tutorial mode. The Hanna HI-97715 offers an exceptionally intuitive user interface which is easy to read and understand. To ensure consistency between multiple users, the photometer features a built-in reaction timer. The photometers positive locking system ensures cuvettes are placed into the holder in the same position every time.
